| Bio | After studying at the Acton School of Business in Austin, I returned to Guatemala to learn more about microcredit and fair trade. Four months later, I was able to found Aldea and continues to grow the company and multiply its positive social and economic impact. As for the rest of me, I live in Austin and sit on the board of directors of Long Way Home. We work directly with artisans to provide access to international markets for their handmade goods. Access to these markets creates income-generating opportunities for the artisans that are greater than those available locally, often doubling the price per piece she could otherwise command in regional markets. |
